Our Story
We’re a family-operated sawmill & apiary in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains passionate about preserving and promoting nature’s resources through our selection of products handcrafted in small batches.
We are Lucas and Jessica Moser, it’s nice to meet you! We have always had a passion for building and crafting our own life, so woodworking has been a large part of our home projects. From woodworking we developed our own lumber yard complete with kiln and sawmill to dry and cut logs into finished lumber for anyone wanting to handcraft beauty in their own lives. With ample wood at our hands, beekeeping in the family, and a fascination for one of nature’s best preservers, we set out to construct an apiary worthy of our ambition. We assembled hive boxes, frames, and swarm traps and after several years of failed attempts (thank you bears and wax moths), we have finally amassed a 37 hive bee yard that is producing some of the tastiest honey we have ever had the pleasure of trying. And of course we couldn’t stop there! From the success of our bees, we took on candle making and fell in love with the craft. It truly does bring nature’s artistry into the home. And so, between the trees and the bees, we have built Mosermade.
The Mosermade family consists of many friends and supporters, but the faces you will see the most of are: Lucas & Jessica Moser and their children: Ford and Briley (the toddler beekeepers), Madeline, and Bode. You will also see Kevin Moser, Luke’s dad, quite often as he passed on his love of woodworking and his familial connection with beekeeping to his son.
