What We Offer
Milling Timber
We take pride in offering a premium service to mill your logs into high-quality rough sawn lumber. We take care to ensure that each piece meets our customer's exact specifications. We are able to process logs as short as three feet and as long as twenty-two feet. We are unable to offer pickup of logs.
Our milling service starts at $40 per hour of milling time.
Kiln Drying Lumber
We offer kiln drying for lumber of all sizes in our passive solar wood kiln. All lumber that is destined to be used in your next woodworking project should be dried to remove the excess moisture in the lumber. If not dried, the lumber can shrink, and in some cases altogether ruin the project that so much time and care was put into. Drying times will vary throughout the year depending on the lumber thickness, initial moisture content, humidity, ambient temperature, and hours of daylight. You can generally expect 4-8 weeks of drying time for 5/4 lumber during the summer and at least 3 to 4 months during the winter. We are able to dry lumber as long as 18’. We dry all lumber that we receive to between 7% and 10%. In most cases the lumber will pick up some moisture after it has left the kiln.
We charge $0.75 per board foot.

"No bit of the natural world is more valuable or more vulnerable than the tree bit. Nothing is more like ourselves, standing upright, caught between heaven and earth, frail at the extremities, yet strong at the central trunk, and nothing is closer to us at the beginning and at the end, providing the timber boards that frame both the cradle and the coffin."
