2025- Community

Hey there! Jessica Moser here kicking off a new way to communicate with you. We have been so busy coming up with new product ideas, a vision for our brand and jumping into the next of many projects that we wanted a space to update you on all the things we have in the works.

We are starting the new year, and like you hear everywhere, it’s the time to make changes. It’s a time to look forward to the future, to treasure what matters most and make it a priority. Plenty of people do that by picking a word of the year. They then use that word as the theme by which they live their lives that year. I’ve never taken part in that practice before. However, as we are tailoring the vision of our brand to fit our mission better, it seemed like a good idea.

Our word would be community. We would love to create one through Mosermade, one that appreciates trees and bees and everything in between. We want to provide a few new products that will really benefit people all across the country. We want to provide more services that will help small local beekeepers and streamline our current sawmill services for local woodworkers. We want to expand our beekeeping to another yard or two in order to care for more bees (and be able to provide honey for you guys all year long as you are currently selling us out every year!). We want to be a resource for homeschool groups. We want to take part in more local vendor events to get to know our customer base even more. We even want to personally grow our introverted selves by reaching out to friends to make plans more often. What we really want most is to grow this year in a way that solidifies ourselves as a staple in the local community. This provides opportunity for learning of the heart and mind for our most important community: the family we are raising.

We are raising the future citizens of our community, not just children. After all, they are only children for a short while. We want them to be able to take part in this business. We envision a future where they will be passionate about caring for nature. A future where they will appreciate craftsmanship, dedication, and really hard work. A future where they will want to help make their local area better. And an easy way to show them that is to use our business as an example. So here is hoping Mosermade Sawmill and Apiary grows from just a local brand to an actual community.

And now for the really fun part, where we get to talk about all the things we have planned! We have been dubbing this plan as our personal Project 2025. It’s all of the things we have ever discussed about doing and the few items we decided to move forward with this year.

  • First things first: finish that honey house!! We have a concrete pad, we have walls framed, we have rafters, beams, and eaves. Goal is to have it functional for our first extraction in late May/early June of 2025! We may not have interior walls up haha but we will have a building to extract in!!

  • More beeswax products: wraps, lip balm, travel version of our popular lotion bar, children’s chest rub, honey lollipops, etc. There is so much I want to do that I know already I am going to have to pace myself. Right now the plan is just for three or four new products this year! You will hear about the first one super soon.

  • More size options for our honey and even starting to separate our flavors/seasons for personal tastes.

  • Extraction services for local beekeepers who need the materials but don’t want to buy them.

  • Merch! We have some shirts and crewneck sweatshirts already available but we are working to get our iconic green hats available as well.

  • At least one more vendor market to take part in, aside from the Blue Ridge Bee Festival which we will for sure be doing again.

  • Improving our packaging and shipping situation. We have already begun that journey so hopefully you’ll notice some really cool changes if your order something this year.

  • Maybe another collaboration or two; again, building that community!

If you have read through all of this- whew! You’re a real one! Thank you for coming into our little corner and being interested in what we are doing. It always means the world to know how much what we do has value and is helping others. My next blog post will be more specific updates and details on the particular projects we are in the middle of. Talk soon!
